The reprint "under one roof" of the Ukrainian translation of Johann-Wolfgang Goethe's poem "Raineke-Lis" and Ivan Franko's poem "Nikita's Fox" introduces readers to two versions of the story, common among many peoples of the world, about the adventurous antics of the cunning fox. Satirical intonations are reported in the works of German and Ukrainian poets, which have a common source. Despite the similarity of many situations, both works have clear signs of national and authorial originality. The text of the translation of the poem J.-V. Goethe was published according to the Lviv edition of 1943, I. Franko's poems - according to the collection of works of the writer in 50 volumes (K., 1976, vol. 4). Goethe's "Raineke-Lys" is published on a copy belonging to the family of Tatiana and Andriy Vorobkevich, for which the compiler expresses his sincere gratitude.
